Chinese Whispers

…It seems that the idea that every Christian can be led directly by the Spirit is not a popular theology in Pastor Moses’ church; in fact it seems that Pastor Moses is the only one allowed to hear from God directly, and everyone else needs to be led by him (and his vision, of course) with the idea being that, by submitting to the hierarchy of church leadership, in the end everyone will still be led by the Spirit… Hmmm, it doesn’t seem to have worked out that well for Jessica and Bobby though.

(Note from Mick: This comic was inspired by a very funny joke out of the simpsons, you can watch it below if you like.)

Boasting In…?

Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.1 Corinthians 1:31

Something doesn’t seem right to John; it seems Pastor Moses finds his boast in…. well, himself actually. Strange days indeed.

Follow Me…

John thinks that Biblical leadership is importand and valid in the body of Christ, but something seems a little dodgy regarding Pastor Moses ultimate agenda…. hmmm

‘Follow me, as I follow Christ’ sounds more like the gospel to John

The voice of God

Life screams at us: “You ‘are not’ good enough!” … but God whispers to us: “My child, ‘I Am’ in love with you, and you’re someone special to me.”

Do you “like” this thought?

Secret Identity?

After watching the movie ‘Superman’ and seeing how Clark Kent was actually one and the same person as Superman, Eric found himself making some strange comparisons of his own…

Personal Ministry

Pastor Moses believes everyone in his church has a personal ministry. Amazingly, each one is somehow tied into them becoming his servant; what a peculiar coincidence.

It Is Written (where?)

John is somewhat concerned that Pastor Moses is leading the whole community to build something that God never asked his people to build in the first place; at least it doesn’t seem to be written anywhere in the Bible. In fact, Pastor Moses seems to be coping the pattern of the local Synagogues to justify building a local church institution; with it’s own building, staff, programs and religious services. But, as John tried to highlight to his pastor,  there doesn’t seem to be any place in the Bible where it was written to those under the Old Covenant to build local religious institutions either?

Perhaps God never asked, and it was never written in the Bible for anyone to do so, because God never intended for local religious institutions to be built in his name in the first place?

John isn’t sure, but he thinks it is worth an open and honest conversation with his pastor, and his other brothers and sisters in Christ, at the very least.

The Church Leadership Lifecycle

Pastor Moses never has a problem with the church leaders who burn out after he has driven them as hard as he could for as long as he could, because they all just seem to disappear; at least disappear from his mind and thoughts.

Eric can’t help but wonder what happened to all those leaders who burnt out after serving Pastor Moses’ vision? They couldn’t all have been abducted by aliens, right?

The King Of The Fools

Sometimes I want to cry
But my tears stay repressed,
Refusing to move
Despite my protest

Sometimes I want to groan,
Scream words I detest
But my voice, she too fails me
Despite my request

Sometimes I want to sit down
But the world makes me stand
And so I keep marching
Despite my demands

And in these strange moments
Exposed as a fool
I know of just one person
Whom I can turn to

The King of the fools
The King of the weak
The King of the hurting
The King of the meek

The King who identifies
With those in their faults
And lifts their heads up,
The King who exalts

And so I’m exalted,
Yet not through my works
But through my King Jesus
Who heals my hurts

The King of the fools
The King of the weak
The King of the hurting
The King of the meek

And so I have hope
For my King never fails
To hold me through weakness
Till his strength prevails

The King of the saints
The King of the strong
The King of all grace
To whom I belong!

Miracles And Wonders

Pastor Moses seems to have a habit of fudging his ‘wonders and miracles’ testimonies… funny thing is, after he’s fudged the whole story, he actually believes it as if it’s totally factual.
