Going To A New Level

Pastor Moses is so focused on making his church services as good as the best ‘mega churches‘ out there that when the Spirit told him that God wants to transition the church to a new place, he could only filter that word through his ‘build the church service, build the church service, build the church service‘ mentality.

John can’t help but think that perhaps God was talking about something more important than just elevated seating for the church services? Perhaps God was talking about raising the church up in the revelation of their heavenly reality?

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3

Relying on His love

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.1 John 4:16

I woke up today thankful that I don’t have to rely on my faith in God, but rather I can rely on the love God has for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love faith. I’m so thankful for faith. Faith allows me to be confident of who God is, and who I am in Him. Faith is such a wonderful gift, but I’m not relying on my faith, I’m relying on God’s love for me.

Oh how He loves us.

I don’t want to ever try to measure my faith this year, because perhaps I might convince myself I don’t have enough of it. This year I’m going to try to measure God’s love for me, because I’m convinced that His love will never be lacking.

When I try to measure God’s love for me, I see the God who did not spare His only Son, but gave him up freely for my sake, so that I might also be a son of God. I see the God who carried all my sins, my pains, my faults and my fears upon a cross, so that I could be forgiven, washed, made pure and then carried in His loving embrace for the rest of time. I see a God who has promised me “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you”.

I see the God who genuinely cares for me; who knows me; who enjoys my company; who walks with me. I see the God of all comfort, all hope and all grace. I see the God who is truly limitless in his love for both me and you.

We know who God is. As His children, we have the amazing blessing of starting this new year relying on the love He has for us. How can it not be a good year when this is our foundation!

Oh how he loves us!

Big Changes In The New Year!

Pastor Moses has had some time over the Christmas break to think about 2009. After several hours pondering the question: “What was lacking in the church services throughout 2009″ he finally discovered the problem. The stage decorations! How can you have an intimate meeting with God when the stage decorations are not looking good?

John was hoping Pastor Moses would get somewhat of a bigger revelation than that, but it seems Pastor Moses thinks he has just found the missing key to church service glory. Let’s see how it all goes in 2010!
