“Fear is focused on breaking people, but God is focused on recreating people. When we are recreated in Christ we are no longer naked victims to fear; rather, we are clothed with the almighty power of God’s love. Perfect love clears the way; it removes the sting of fear so that we may have rest for our souls. God’s love is our resting place.”
The Gospel Cannot Be Chained: (Free e-book)
Last week I made available one of the letters (Ephesians) from my paraphrase of Paul’s four prison letters (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians & Philemon.)
I thought it over, and decided it would be better to just make available all 4 letters as a free download. So here they are. Feel free to share this page with anyone you feel would enjoy downloading and reading these paraphrased versions of the Apostle Paul’s four prison letters. (Just to the left are twitter & facebook share buttons, plus the orange plus button has many more sharing options too)
It is amazing that even in prison Paul still knew he was free; he still knew of a far greater reality that was his in Christ. Paul’s letters reveal so much of his heart of love, his joy in God’s greatness, and his uncompromising faith in the redemptive work of Jesus. This paraphrase is a fresh look at Paul’s timeless message of God’s love and grace, and the freedom that is ours in Christ.
You can also buy a paperback copy from Amazon.com, B&N.com and other bookstores.
Once again, feel free to share these letters whenever you think will enjoy reading them.
Blue skies,
Mick
“God lets us rest upon his wings when we are full of strength flying among the mountain tops, and lets us rest upon his shoulder when we are in tears within the valley below. No matter the emotional place we find ourselves, God is with us as our friend, our councilor and our helper. He is always with us. He loves us. He cares for us. He is committed to us. He is our strength in times of need.”
Confessing Sins: What’s The Point Of 1 John 1:9?
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
This one sentence in John’s letter seems to cause a great deal of stress and controversy. And with it comes the questions: What did he mean by that? Someone recently asked me for my take on this Scripture, so I’ll also share it here for all of you who might also be interested in it.
Firstly, I don’t think that when John wrote this his intention was for it to be taken in a threatening way (he is known as the Apostle of love after all) but rather, I believe it is written to encourage us. Yes, encourage. But, how does it encourage us?
The Gospel Cannot Be Chained: Ephesians (Free e-book)
As many of you know, I’ve recently released a paraphrase of Paul’s 4 prison letters (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians & Philemon) called ‘The Gospel Cannot Be Chained’ that’s now available as a paperback at Amazon, B&N and other bookstores.
Well, I’ve decided to also like to make the Ephesians letter available for free as a PDF ebook. Just click the cover to download a copy. I hope you really enjoy it.
I paraphrased these four letters because I wanted to help highlight the joy, love and freedom the Apostle Paul wrote about, preached and lived, despite being in prison during the time of writing these letter. ‘The Gospel Cannot Be Chained’ is a fresh look at his timeless message of grace.
Feel free to share this page with whoever you think would also like the opportunity to download a copy.
Blue skies,
Mick
