Egomaniac

Pastor Moses really seems to have really bought into the whole super hero image he created with Pastorman, but it doesn’t look like his wife Sue is on the same wave length; in fact maybe she’s the only one who has the guts to tell him exactly what he’s turning into?

Go Sue go!

Creating A Super Hero Image

Pastor Moses seems to think that setting himself up as a super hero like figure is something that will ultimately help achieve his vision of church growth; he really believes orchestrating his super hero image is a selfless act for the benefit of others. John isn’t buying his logic…

The Super Hero Anointing

Eric holds his pastor up high; he has no hesitation in calling him the Lord’s anointed. John agrees, but only in as much as he is also anointed, as is Eric, and everyone who is in Jesus.

Eric agrees, in theory at least, but still feels compelled to explain that his pastor is extra anointed – super hero anointed even! He’s even known to be able to explode people… not that anyone (including Pastor Moses) has ever actually witnessed these strange, powerful abilities, but hey, there are plenty of stories floating around about it, so they must be true, right?

The Perfect Match

Who is Liz’s perfect match? John isn’t sure if anyone could ever fit her expectations; Pastor Moses seems to be more optimistic… errr, kind of.

The Impartation

Eric has tried his hardest at casting out the bogey men in John with little success, so now he’s trying a different strategy. It looks like hard work, but maybe he’ll succeed, who knows?

Challenging Pastor Moses’ Teaching

Eric wonders why Luke can so freely express his thoughts on their mutual faith, even when they directly challenge some of the foundational things that Pastor Moses teachers. Many of the things Luke has shared with Eric really made sense, and Eric would like to think about them further, but he’s too afraid to do that. His greatest worry is that Pastorman, that is Pastor Moses, may use some of his super anointed powers to, well, explode him.

Pastor Moses has taken a long hard look at his life, his gifting, and his (exaggerated) anointing, and, after also looking at some worldly counterparts, has decided it’s only fitting that yet another impressive title should be bestowed upon him. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s…. Pastorman!

Setting The Bar Too High?

John thought it would be a good idea to ask Liz out on a date. He wasn’t thinking about organising to marry her or thinking about the names of their future babies; it would have just been a simple dinner and a chance to chat and get to know each other a little better. Liz however didn’t really take it that way.

A ‘date’ to Liz means marriage is just a step away, and she can’t risk it, as she is waiting for Mr Perfect. Yep, some guy who is just like Jesus, with just a little bit more awesomeness, is out there somewhere

Serving

Bobby has an honest question about how can he serve God, and Pastor Moses has his honest answer. Bobby has another question how Pastor Moses serves God, and, not surprising, he has an honest answer to his next question too.

For all his faults, you have to respect Pastor Moses’ honesty.

The House

Eric loves to talk about ‘the house‘. In fact, everything needs to somehow be about ‘the house‘ yes, ‘the house‘ is where it all happens. John doesn’t really understand what Eric means; does he mean Johns house? Or does he mean Eric’s house? No, no, no… He means the church building, and not just the building, but the building during the time they run their one hour religious service.

But John’s question is about what really is ‘the house of God’? Sure it was the temple in the Old Covenant, but isn’t it now the people of God in the new covenant? Isn’t it more about the people, and not about the event, or the place?
