I'd rather not.. haha.. Since this is not a debate forum, its better we just agree to disagree and chill... C'mon man, its a comic that exaggerates stereotypes.. Take it with a pinch of salt eh? I have to admit I was kinda annoyed by some of the stereotypes since they were so outrageous, yet believe- able enough to convince pre believers/new believers of some facets of Christianity. Another reason why I would not go into a lengthy discussion is that I may inadvertently misrepresent others with my posts.. Has happened before, and I would love to avoid it ever happening again.. Seems like even the early church recognized the need to delegate daily tasks so that the leaders could devote themselves to "the ministry of the Word and prayer". Steven wasn't a person to "look down upon" -- on the contrary, he was chosen to "just wait tables" (the way we look at it today) specifically because he was "of good reputation, filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom". Oh, that we would all be so blessed as to be chosen on those requisites to "just wait tables" -- we never know what the Lord can accomplish through us as we serve Him in such capacities! After all, if there wasn't a Steven, there might never have been a Paul. Think about it. Being an armor bearer means taking care of things so that the leader doesnt have to. If the preaching pastor is busy running here and there, taking care of every matter then where will he get the time to study God's Word? Thats why we appoint different departments(logistics/sound/video) and leaders to handle the day to day running of the church. If it involves cleaning toilets, so be it. But as they usually have janitors for that and the pastor just wants to be a scrooge and not hire some then we have a problem... Therefore Rom 8:30 is for those who truly believe in the finished work of Christ shall reign in life for His glory. Ask and open your heart to Him and you'll see Grace.
