John believes the best part about becoming an Apostle would be the joy of proclaiming the perfect finished work of Jesus. Eric believes the best part about becoming an Apostle is the knowledge he will never have to clean another church toilet again.

And yet no one thought it wise to point out that it was un-Biblical for Eric to think he could become "an Apostle" (capital "A") to begin with? That office has been officially closed for some1900 years…the closest thing we have nowadays (in the second sense of the word "apostle") are missionaries, those who are sent out to proclaim the gospel to an area that has not yet heard of Him.
People wanting to be "Apostles" generally entertain the thought because they want the position of authority, and in this way, Eric is a fantastic illustration of ANY person who wants to hold such a position — even though they might not say it out loud, the reason stems from wanting to be in authority over others, so the others will have to do it their way rather than the person having to do it the other people's way.
Brother Alan, Thanks for the lead to this awesome site. And thanks to Mick for the great anointing in the message and the drawing. And of cause thanks to Daddy for showing us His Salvation (Yahuah) and spared us from cleaning the toilets.
Hallelujah!
Whouldn't it be amazing, if we let God change his people?
Wow! what a great way to be enlightened about God's heart. His heart is not for his CHILDREN to serve. Children be children, do things out of their desire, so I agree with Mick. There's nothing wrong with cleaning toilets, but we gotta get our perspective right, especially about God's heart. His love doesn't depend on our serving, or whatever. He simply Loves…. man I am BELOVED!
Hey Mick,
thanks for making me laugh every week. This one is really good, the truth you are conveying: people's hope is fueled for ages and in the end they are still cleaning the toilets 20 years later – but the "real calling" is of course only just around the corner….Lol
Hi Mick, I love your comics!
I think human mentalities are the same no matter what races they belong to. I'm a Chinese, my friend who has an apostle calling still washing the toilet in his Church. Is he going to wash for 40 years, Pastor Moses?
You're bringing out a great truth here. I've been in that same situation, as many other frsutrated Christians have. The religious cogs of the church machine run on the fuel of many Christians who have the idea that serving God (the church actually) in some way that is "do-able", even if it is something you don't want to do – will be the passport to a fabulous, anointed position in ministry. We get told to "start-of-small-and-work-up-big" – but we often end-up getting nowhere – if we have selfish ambition.
Thanks Thomas, glad your enjoying them
I love your Comics!
too
Hey Mick, love the new style of the page. Way better. Great point to!
Just to clarify, I don't think there's anything wrong with cleaning toilets, but the joke is Eric want's to become an Apostle just so he doesn't have to do it anymore
