Introducing to the comic Peggy the worship leader!
Peggy can’t understand why John would question her worship theology, after all she is THE worship leader! What is all this talk about being ‘in Christ’ anyway?
About mick:
Help! I'm a modern day theologian trapped in a cartoonist's body! You can view a list of books I have authored on my Amazon Author's page:Click here to view.
Your reply is a good news indeed. Don't worry, I am serious about Jesus and His finished work at the cross and what it all represents. The reply I gave earlier was actually a cut and paste from a respond given by a 'pastor' from another forum. Honestly if I were to reply to the 'pastor' as you did (in which I most certainly will), I would have gotten more than a mouthful. Heck! Even now I am being accused of heresy and blaspheme
Peggy gave me that impression. She has alot of head knowledge but lacking in wisdom. So when she was being asked about 'pressing in', all she knew was only to repeat what she said earlier — PRESS IN. Similarly, there are those who preach about 'obeying the commandment', 'carrying your own cross', 'knowing His will' etc. Yet, when being 'pressed' for an explanation, such preachers would simply stumbled at their own words and just repeat their
'For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.' sermon like a broken record.
Your comics gave a fresh perspective to sharing the message of Christ, which is the Gospel pictorially. Keep it up, it sure gave me a few laughs as well as brighten up my day.
If Peggy's more learned in the Scripture, she might just spew the following –
Everything in The Scriptures are for "us" to Learn from! So in essense, it is All about us… (Not Taking away from The Importance of Our Heavenly Father, Or The Messiah, Or HIS Holy Spirit). The Scriptures Contain in Them "What we should do, and how we should be…" This is Our Instruction Booklet! The Messiah doesn't need to be reading it up in Heaven! We are the ones that need to be reading it, learning from it, and applying it to our lives! Is it Still not written about us? Ofcourse none of us were living on the Earth during the time The Messiah walked the Earth, (or before). But you should get the point where I am coming from!
This is the part that you just don't seem to get though! We are supposed to Live a certain Type of Lifestyle "After" The Cross, "After" we have come & accepted Messiah/what He has done. This is the very Agreement that we make with Him! The Scriptures were written for what???? Or should I say (for you) the Bible was written for what?
Hi Sebaz,
I'm really not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious, so I'll take the safe bet and answer seriously.
First of all, I don't believe that the Bible is our 'instruction book'. The bible is the testimony of Christ, his greatness and his finished work upon the cross. This testimony is written clearly for us in the New Testament, and also in the 'shadows of Christ' all through the Old Testament. We are meant to read the bible, not to learn how to live, but to be reminded of the Life Himself!
In the New Covenant we have been given the Holy Spirit to guide, lead, teach and council us. The Spirit is the one who instructs us, not the written code. If you read the bible to understand Christ and his greatness then it will produce life in you, but if you read it as an instruction book for living then it will bring condemnation.
The same Spirit that created the universe and raised Christ from the dead is now living in us, and he has promised to lead us into all truth. He is the one we are led by. As we are led by the Spirit, we are naturally led in his ways (the way of love) and so without any written code find ourselves living and relating to God and others as God desires.
It seems to me that God would rather a weak back-tapper that's genuinely from the heart than an all out strangler manufactured through loud, emotive music and meaningless phrases yelled out in the heat of the moment. Its like the difference between showing subtle, quiet love to someone when you're sober and showing them flamboyant love when your intoxicated.
I don't suppose that those who talk of their desire to "press in" could possibly be talking about the way a person in love with another person "presses in" when they embrace. We've all been in situations where we've "had to" hug someone, and we give that little polite back-tapper hug. But when we see that person we love so dearly, we don't give them a polite little "back-tapper", no, we get in there are embrace them tightly!
This is the way I've always understood "pressing in" — as not giving God some weak polite little wet-noodle handshake or back-tapper polite hug, but *embracing* Him like you actually might really love Him.
Peggy is pressing in for the anointing. An olive needs to be "pressed in" in order to get the olive oil and olive oil speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus had been crushed and His anointing had been released 2000 years ago. Peggy is in for one of those "Crazymatic" movement!
You need to ask Peggy what ‘Press in’ means, but to tell you the truth I don’t even think she knows what it means Maybe it’s just one of those Christian sayings that everyone says ‘amen’ to, but actually have no idea what it means
I have literally seen people preach this. Their understanding is law-based, I can't even believe I believed that stuff. Instead of a response from the heart they create a fake 'worship' scene in which people can be manipulated into believing that what they are doing is really awesome. It cannot become faker than that. Even Hollywood is nothing against it.
There is no problem in raising your hands or becoming excited about God, but when it doesn't come from the heart (GRACE) God hates it!
This is the only new covenant service: believe that he has served you on the Cross

That's so true Mick…pretty funny stuff. You truly can only see the law when grace is revealed to you.
Good one.
Yes… Alan. Preach it brother. But Peggy still said "I don't understand what you mean but one thing I do know… Press In!! Brother" Ha….

Hi James,
You need to ask Peggy what ‘Press in’ means, but to tell you the truth I don’t even think she knows what it means
Maybe it’s just one of those Christian sayings that everyone says ‘amen’ to, but actually have no idea what it means
huahahahah…. can I press it?
