Programmed?

Eric loves telling people how God doesn’t want programmed robots, he want’s people to be free, and yet it seems his whole life is completely pre-programmed?

Note from Mick: This is my first attempt at an 8 panel ‘searching for grace’ comic. I intend, in general, to stick to 4 panels, but every now and then I might make a bigger comic. What do you think of the 8 panel comic?

Fantastic…sadly this describes my life about a year ago. I'm SO happy that I've found Freedom! Thanks Mick

    Hey Mick,

I loved the longer version as well….. wouldn't even mind if you did a titanic issue (like 16 squares) for those of us who like the 3 hour verizon :)

Regarding the specific strip above……. A friend once told me "that Jesus was often busy, but He was never rushed." It's a freeing word, to rest in the reality that we don't have to make life happen. He already has our steps ordered and the good works for us already prepared for us to walk in. All we need to do is to delight ourselves in Him and He'll give us the desires of our hearts …. to do his perfect, good, and "acceptable" will :) Glad He delivered me from the treadmill of Church, Inc. !!! Thanks Mick, for what you do, and the lightness that you share with so many around the world. You are loved, brother!

Hey Mick, I love the double-feature episode dude! Just right for this message. I love the way John gets progressively more weary as Eric tells him he's busy that day. How inflexible we can be as Christians when we tie ourselves down to programs. We can end-up missing out on what God really has for us – like that 20 minute conversion in a coffee shop that sends our belief system, and life, on a completly new and exciting direction.

I really appreciated the 8 panels; you wouldn't have been able to cover a week of being "free" to worship without all eight. Such a good point. So thank you for the extra effort. I have only been brought to the teachings of true grace over the last year, and the old traditions are hard to break free from, but it's the simpleness of points like you made that actually make it easier. Reducing the complicating explanations, and just getting to the core of the matter. Before, grace was just taught to me as the niceness I show others, when I don't really feel like it. The Lord has lovingly brought His Truth into my life and I am so thankful that I can take my eyes off of myself, and keep them on Him, where they belong!
