Pastor Moses loves to preach about the heroes of the Old Testament and how we can be warriors like them. John believes that those heroes were just shadows of Christ, the true hero, who defeated death and every other spiritual enemy on our behalf, and it is Jesus who will continue to fight for us in this life by the power of His Spirit.
John is simply resting in the truth that Jesus will protect, provide and fight for him, Pastor Moses thinks John is just being chicken.

a lot of Christians i know tell me i need to put the Armor of God every morning. i don’t agree with that because Jesus is the armour. Am i correct about this, Mike?

I think John understands that ‘fighting the good fight of faith’ is about taking his stand for the gospel of God’s grace, and living my faith in it without running back to law (that Paul reminds us does require faith). Times can get hard, but we can remain standing in the truth of the gospel and confidently expect that God will justify us and He will work for our good to bring us through any trails we face. John is simply puting his faith in Jesus. Moses on the other hand, is looking for a demon under every rock that he can personally fight.
By sitting under Moses’ ministry, John is going to have a good time fighting the good fight of FAITH!
