What Do You Love?

There seems to be a slippery slope away from a ‘Jesus love‘  into a ‘Pastor Moses love‘ going on. Not that there’s anything wrong with having a love for your pastor, but when the church starts finding their identity in the pastor they follow instead of the Christ they are in, well then,  perhaps it’s something worth rethinking?

The problem seems to come when we hear God for ourselves and what we hear doesn't fit with what our leaders are hearing. Then they don't know what to do with us and how to respond to what we believe. It seems to me they become like the Pharisees, who had to add their own take on what The Law said, so they could control what people did – they then had "all the power", as Danny Silk would say!

amen. this is so timely. I just realized this last night. and really, i thank God for that revelation. and this one's a confirmation.

"The things that are seen are temporary; but the things unseen are eternal." our relationship with people IN CHRIST is what matters. :) if we start seeing people as "they" are (individually, not through their representative — Christ), then even that relationship becomes unstable. The unseen thing in the Church is that it is the body of Christ — that's what stands eternal. :)

thanks for this, kuya mick. :)

The important bit, though, to the reader is: "where am I in this continuum?"

That's the big question we have to ask Joe! I hope we all find ourselves in the first box :-)
