Who Needs To Be Evangelised?

Pastor Moses is going into overdrive in his efforts to push his church members to evangelise.  John is a little concerned.  After all, if they don’t even understand the very basic truths relating to the gospel of God’s grace, what exactly will they be telling people?

i’m praying to Jesus and asking Him to help me through this doubtful time. The Lord has enabled me to understand His wonderful love for me and His grace but still am attending church that is preaching grace and law together, emphasizing much about getting us to know our spiritual gifts and how we should all be in service for Christ. They do love one another like Christ loves the church but are focusing more on sin then focusing on Jesus. Is that church right about preaching law and grace? Matthew 9:17

Agnes, I don’t think it’s ever ‘right’ to preach a mixed gospel, but it seems to happen most of the time. Remember that ‘the church’ is not a leadership system, it is a community, and you are a living and active part of that community, so speak up and share both the gospel, and also consider sharing your concerns about a mixed gospel being preached. Christ is with you sister, he’s leading you.

I know who is that thief… Pastor Moses :)

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy… and so who is that thief here? Beware!! anyone who is religious is that thief, anyone who lives by the law is that thief, anyone who lives by do and don't is that thief… and anyone who lives not according to the Spirit is that thief. Are you that thief?

I love these comics. I recently found a church here in Uganda where God's love is not replaced with 2 tablets of stone… I mean i had quit church.. The burden i used to hear on Sundays was heavy. Indeed Gods unconditional love is being spread around the world.

you know you are in trouble when you meet someone that is interested in God but realize you can't take them to your church because you know what they will be taught (and not taught of course). Personally I used to hear pastors say this stuff and think, "get them saved and bring them here for what? so they can get burdened the same as I feel right not?"

they would also say that the devil was resisting their efforts to get people saved in the community etc and I would be thinking, "maybe its God resisting you, He wants them saved but unto freedom not another set of rules and behavior modification programs."

Great comic – my only problem with it is that it is true.

Your statement is so true. That’s how it is with me inviting someone to my church.

    Hi Mick,

I couldn't believe how John and i experience the exactly same thing in church!

Btw, does John ever try to share the gospel of God's grace to pastor Moses, and pastor advice him to "keep it in balance?". I did.

      Hi April,
Yep, I have the feeling Pastor Moses will be giving John the 'keep it balanced' lecture soon ;-)

    Hi Mick,

Comic after comic, it is as if we (you and me) were from the same Christian background and of the "Same Church" sitting next to each other… What you have been sharing are so real and your sharings just help me to recall all those religious memories… :)

These are the real life events in a religious circle and I'm sort of can anticipate what you are going to share next! Prasie the Lord for His GRACE, for I can understand and appreciate what you are sharing here!

    Blessing!

      Alan,
I guess religion is the same all over the world, and relgious mindsets in the end are all the same. But we can praise God that HE is revealing the truth of His glorious gospel to the hearts of His beloved all over the world!
