WMC (worship mediator complex)

Peggy has a bad case of “WMC” (worship mediator complex). The thought of Christians not needing a ‘worship leader’ is terribly insulting to her!

There is that ‘critical spirit’ again @Ray and @Yannick kekekekeke ;) – but I’m the same hahaha

  2. lovelle

LOL! haha. if only we can get rid of the Law and Order Spirit and just worship HIM without inhibitions!…
    *sigh

I think Pastor Moses misinterpreted John by saying “worship by the Spirit and not by a worship leader”. That is not what John was saying… John was saying that worship is not necessary song and dance. He did not say that a worship leader was not needed. However, John may argue why we need to call people worship leaders but he won’t have an issue with someone bringing a song and saying to the church, “hey, let’s sing this one!”.

The Message substituting a few words / strongly paraphrased (but true!). ‘Galatians 2.15-16′

“We know very well that we are not set right with God by worshipping (or any other kind of rule keeping) but only through personal trust in Jesus Christ. How do we know? We tried it – we had the best system of worship the world has ever seen! Convinced that no human being can please God by self-improvement (like trying to worhip harder), we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not by trying to be good (like try to worship).”

As a WL at a small church, it pains me to admit that ppl (congregation and WLs) do depend on the ‘worship’ time. Once a pastor said that we have to worship with great songs to help the minister preach! ??? what da? Don’t you just preach out of the excitement of the Gospel?
I’m being sent to Korea to train a worship team. … Pray that God’s wisdom will be bold and revealed in telling them that the best way to worship is just to see Jesus! Playing music and singing songs together is just a plus, because some ppl enjoy singing and playing music… ha!
Don’t get me wrong, I love playing guitar and singing songs about Christ, but the mentality needs to be changed.

no cause, if worship is led by the Spirit, worship is led by God and not by man, so it’s got nothing to do with what Paul says… the Spirit is the Spirit of Grace… and a Spirit of Grace allows you to worship God in which ever way you desire, there is no law – now in the world that ends in lawlessness, but in the Spirit that leads to something most Christians haven’t probably even experienced…

I pray that God opens the hearts of the worship leaders to let go of their selfish ambition to build themselves a crowd, instead of serving the body, like Paul would have done….

    GRACE! :-)

If worship were led “by the Spirit” in this context, you’d have so many different “spirits” (actually many different fleshes) that the result would be chaos of the kind Paul warns against in 1 Corinthians.

many times i feel that is the one place where church politics start…

:D as a wl myself, i been there…thanks to his unfailing grace, he got me out of this pride and made me realize, that without his grace and his spirit working in peoplesĀ“ hearts, the most amazing “worship” (meaning a show with music and songs with words about god :D ) would do no good whatsoever…
mick, u“re doin a great job here :)
