Who Needs To Be Evangelised?

The pressure to conform to Pastor Moses’ way of thinking by serving his every religious idea without question doesn’t seem to be working on the new member to the church, in fact, after speaking with different members over the past week, it has become clear to John that most of Pastor Moses’ church members, although extremely passionate for Pastor Moses and his ‘vision’, don’t actually know even the basic truths to the gospel of God’s grace.

After confronting Pastor Moses with this information, John discovered the reason why. If Pastor Moses doesn’t even understand God’s grace, what hope is there for the rest? Who really needs to be evangelised?

True Mick, the problem was that Grace is not just a ‘movement’ and the church tried to make it so just like they did to prosperity or healing. These are fundamental truths that the church does its best to suppress or move over to the ‘lunatic fringe’. Grace, like the Gospel can and will defend itself, because it is the truth. It seems to me that Pastor Moses has a special brand of ‘religion’ that he supports. Such a shame…

The early church started out with the understanding of ‘Grace through Faith’ (Ephesians 2:8). That was lost at some point until Martin Luther re-discovered this truth. Perhaps we are in another cycle of a lost understanding of Grace. Man wants something tangible and tactile. Works is the natural outcome of that desire. Grace is etherial. I think that we also have a hard time trusting this work to the Holy Spirit for the same reasons. Just my .02 worth.

I agree to this –the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ taught a very long time ago was real truth. But then I guess after centuries later, we started misinterpreting scripture and it turned into works until Martin Luther taught “we are saved by grace through faith. Then after Martin Luther, the church went back to the works mentality. I believe that in these last days the truth of God’s grace will be revived. I don’t understand revival much but i think revival means one day Christians will learn the truth about grace and will set them free from bondage. Is this what you are saying in your comment?
