The Modern Day Armor-Bearer

After Eric tried to get John straight into serving in a church ministry (see comic here) and seeing that John wasn’t prepared to jump straight into it, Eric decided he needed to inspire John to get involved by boasting about his ministry position. Yes, Eric is proud to be a modern day armor-bearer for Pastor Moses… but it seems that the modern armor-bearer has slightly different tasks than those of the Bible days.

Though I appreciate the humor and the intent of cartoon. Truth is some of greatest saints I know clean toilets. And I for one am glad they do.

Sure Dave, nothing wrong with cleaning toilets, we all have to do it. I think the inspiration for this comic came out of hearing one too many super apostle like preachers retell their story of ministry success, and it is always about how they started out cleaning toliets! So Eric thinks this is the magical key to becoming a super apostle someday.

Any ex (or current?) modern day armor-bearers out there?

Not me! They don’t like mavericks as armour-bearers – and I have been called that on more than one occasion. :-)
They want people who will toe the party line, regardless…..
