It amazed John that Pastor Moses can read something in the Bible, such as Matthew 17:27, and somehow preach a strange message that results in everyone giving money to the church.
Is the only thing needed to call a message ‘biblical’ some random, out of context verse?
“But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.” Matthew 17:27
(read today’s post: If God is in control, love is the only means to his goal)

What if I did find that coin in that fish? How would that be!
Amazing – maybe there’s not a BIG enough word to describe my surprise.
That’s one of the very intriguing things about faith – who knows where and when and what will happen. And if He says, then it will happen – and we never thought it could or would.
Just like the resurrection – whoever thought?
So, a fish and a coin – wow, I certainly like to
Wouldn’t you?
Blessings
Think about it – fishing requires some commitment and faith on your part. God then supplies. We are then required to give it away for God’s glory (seed it) and give thanks. If you do that again and again you will be surprised at what happens in your life. For one thing it becomes more care free. I’d say that is good advise.
I wish my fishing experiences ended with at least catching a fish, nevermind about then finding money within it! haha.
Seems Pastor Moses just gave everyone the excuse to spend the day at the lake fishing. What a generous and unselfish act! I mean, nobody is gonna find money in the mouth of a fish, so it is a free day! Yippee!!
I can’t see the church getting rich anytime soon using this method! Maybe it will make Pastor Moses think again about using such random verses so freely when there’s no money to pay his salary? There are also goning to be rather a lot of the church members sitting at the lake side all day, catching nothing …
Money, money, money, must be funny, in a rich man’s world….
